Congratulations, you're invited to a tradeshow...now what?
What to wear depends on your role as well. Business casual is acceptable at an auto glass tradeshow. Please see the Attire page. Following this simple dress code will ensure you're ready for the show.
If you are meeting with key accounts, national accounts, or attending executive meetings, consider ditching the nice jeans and bringing on the suit coats and slacks. 👍 You can still leave your prom tux and gowns at home! 😆
Bring your "A-game."
You have been invited to attend a tradeshow for PGW Auto Glass. It is important to present yourself professionally throughout the event. Please be prepared to talk about the industry, promotions, contests, and any other relevant information that will help customers understand all the services and products offered by PGW Auto Glass.
It is also an opportunity to meet your colleagues. You may only be able to answer some of the questions or solve some issues, but knowing who can help and directing the customer to that person will take customer service to a new level.
2. Network, Network, Network!
We like to network at auto glass functions! This is an excellent opportunity to do so as many industry professionals will all be at the conference.
A few things to remember...
Professionalism. Letting loose, laughing, and socializing with our customers and partners is okay, but forgetting why you're at the event is not. Please conduct yourself as if our Human Resources team is always present. 😁
Forbes put out an article on topics to avoid in a work setting. This goes for the tradeshow booth as well. While acting as a PGW employee, NEVER have a conversation with customers regarding:
Politics, Religion, Racial, Ethnicity, Gender, Immigration, Protests, Personal Medical Issues, Employee Salaries, Negative gossip or rumors about a colleague or customer.
Please be on time and polite. This grace is expected for all meetings, events, dinners, and team gatherings. Things happen, and that's okay, but please let your team or group know if anything unexpected happens.
Be sure to check your calendar event time zones! This gets all of us as we travel to different cities. Your company laptop and calendar may not automatically convert an event time to the current time zone. Should you get a dinner invite for 12 pm, chances are, that's not the time of the event. You will be extremely early and inconvenienced.
